От анимэ отказаться однозначно нельзя, но это массовая культура, а значит та часть японской культуры которую не стоит "выпячивать" . Она как и любая массовая культура сама вылезет наверх. Ибо как сказано выше у анимэ

низкий порог восприятия и, следовательно, широкое поле для развития на чужой почве.

А вот то , что за пределами Японии немного можно добыть информации по

гравюрам, веерам, доспехам и т.д.

следствие того , что культра Японии в классическом смысле является во многом культурой самураев (не созданой самураями, но "профильтрованой" воинским сословием). А если Япония начнет развивать "самурайскую тему" на заграницу , то ее тут же обвинят в милитаризме , зверствах японской военщины и т.д.
Кроме того (может я ошибаюсь ?) , но в Японии , которую мы все считаем о-о-очень традиционной страной, молодежь не слишком интересуется традициями. Они живут также как и тинейджеры во всем мире. У нас ведь никто не ходит в косоворотках (Россия) или шароварах (Украина)

I really want to write in Russian, but I'm afraid it's still difficult for me to do. Even reading your comments on this forum can be quite hard with my level of vocabulary in Russian...

I'm curious on how things are going on in the comtemporary Russian society and what you Russian people think about, and actually, know about our country. I once watched TV featuring a sushi restaurant in Moscow, where they were searved with what they said they believed to be sushi, but those pieces of dishes looked a bit (or even quite) deviated from what we usually call sushi here. That was interesting, and I thought some sushi cooks should go to Russian to show what real sushi is like they do in some other countries.

About Russia, I really do not know that much in your tradition nor most up-to-date things, so it would be great if I could come to be familiar with some of those aspects through this Fushigi site.

By the way, I used to watch anime or read manga a lot when I was young, but I have to say I'm not quite keen on most recent works. If you expect something in that area, I'm afraid I may not help...

Right, I do understand sushi has been localized to make it fit to the local population. Therefore, some of such local versions can be quite interesting to Japanese eyes. I forgot what they serviced in that Moscow restaurant, but I vaguely remember there were some ingredients unbelievable on the kaitenzushi (rolling sushi table) in a neaby sushi restaurant here..  In Japan, we cannot imagine how it's difficult to get sea foods, but yes, in Moscow, I've never imagined how hard it could be, located in-land far from the waters.

Living in Japan, I truly cannot imagine what people, cultures or customs prevail in the modern Russia, which from your comment, I guess looks like quite varied. Internet opens up a new chance for us to look at pictures from different countries and also movie news which really helps know what's happening in the world.

I fully agree it takes lots of time to enhance mutually beneficial relations between Russina and Japan.

Well, from where should I start? It was alreasy decades ago when I was more watching Tv animes or read manga comics. Just as an example, you may have heard the blue rat-shaped robot called Doraemon who comes from the 21th-century world to help his friend's ancester who is yet an elementary student called Nobita.
Or else, there is a witch girl animation called "mahoutsukai Sally", in which the witch girl "Sally" appears among the human world to become friends with other human girls. She sometimes use special magics to save people or make things easier. At thos times, I remember those witch craft animation works were popular, where the interpretation seemed to be rather different from the original historical backgrond in the western countries (or maybe in Russia?).
There are other worls to name a few. The one I liked a lot was a re-interpreted versions of Swiss Family Robinson. In the original story, there are father and mother along with 4 sons isolated in a tropical island, while in the Japanese animation, there are two brothers and one girl called "Flone". The title is called "Fushigi no shima no furoone".

Maybe you can tell me what kinds of mangas you like, then I would tell some titles, but please do understand I'm not really keen on those ones for the recent 10-20 years!

Well, now I see you changed the avatar to a cute one  Please don't feel offended, but when I firstly saw your previous avatar, that instantly reminded me of a folflore called "Nekodake" - "neko" meaning "cat" and "dake" meaning "high mountain". In this story, a traveller gets lost in a mountaneous area and wanders around. It gets dark in the evening, when he finds a bright light coming from some house in a lonely place, which is actually a tavern managed by cat tribes. Those cats can be all kinds including ones living with people as pets. There seem to be different senarios, but in the legend, the cats get together to the sacred nekodake for various reasons such as special training, escape, etc. Not all of them are bad-intentioned, but some of them take in travellers into their sanctuary to make them work as servants. The traveller manages to run away from there, whom the cats in human tried chanse in vain. Those ones who finish their training are said to have their mouth split up from ear to ear, looking like a monster and go back to human villages where they show people perfermances ....

Well, let me clarify, actually it's literally difficult yet for me to type in Russian. Firstly because of the linguistic aspects, but also because of the keyboard difference (!) I recently found a special website where we can type in Russian from the English keyboard, but it's not so easy as say...To tell you the truth, one of the best things I owe to Internet is machine translation among various major languages (such as the one you can find at Google.) So I firstly get the above result from machine translating, then only a bit adjusted which surprisingly looks ok to your eyes 
Meanwhile, it's, at least, true I'm becoming more and more interested in studying Russian these months, considering I once gave up a few years back! Thank you for your comment anyway.

Не стесняйтесь. Из Вашего первого сообщеня, я делаю вывод , что Ваш русский как минимум так же хорош , как и мой английский. А я иногда сообщаю людям, которые не знают английского , что я его знаю .   

 Я хочу обьяснить, что мне буквально еще сложно печатать по русски. Во-первых из-за языковых аспектов, но также и из-за разницы в клавиатуре  (!) Недавно нашел сайт где можно писать по русски с английской клавиатуры, но это проще сказать , чем сделать... Честно говоря, одна из лучших веще , что дает мне интернет это автоматический перевод с разных языков (такой как в  Google.) Так что я сначала получаю машинный перевод , а потом только немножко редактирую его чтобы сделать удивительно приемлимым для чтения   
 В любом случае правда то, что я все больше заинтересован в изучении русского в ближайшие месяцы, особенно учитывая то , что я забросил это дело пару лет.

Yes, I heard about Doraemon, but unfortunately I didn’t look that anime. But I watched «Sally the Witch» (魔法使いサリー), «Candy Candy» (キャンディ・キャンディ), «Lunlun the Flower Child» (花の子ルンルン), «The Adventures of Maya the Honeybee» (みつばちマーヤの冒険), «UFO Robot Grendaizer» (UFOロボ グレンダイザー), «Speed Racer» (マッハGoGoGo), «Wonder Beat» (ワンダービート・スクランブル) and «Sailor Moon» (美少女戦士セーラームーン). Maybe it was something else, but I don’t remember it. Oh! And another one, that I saw, it was «Astro Boy» (鉄腕アトム).

For the first time I watched anime when I was 8-9 years old, when it just started to transmit in our country. Then I didn’t know that this is anime, but with pleasure watching interesting cartoons I especially liked «Sally the Witch» and «Speed Racer» And now I almost didn’t watch anime – I have another cases requiring attention in the first place. Actually you're correct in mentioning that the language part makes it difficult enough for me to use here more freely. On the other hand, I may add up, for example, after we post a new message into this thread, it automatically returns to the home page, where it looks like a bit hard to find where we're originally from. Do you see what I mean? But with a bit of carefully checking, I notice the website's system shows up a list of most recent posts on the front page. Now I learned we can easily find where to click to get back to the original page......This may be related to a format difference I'm used to on most of the English or Japanese similar forums....Anyway, I hope this should not be a big issue!

Sorry I'm yet to read through the article (it's difficult!). But I will sure do soon! By the way, you seem to be located in Moscow yourself and you know they have a Japanese sushi chef at the restaurants? When we hear of sushi, that naturally refers to a variety of raw seafood ingredients. There are other sorts as well, including egg, what is called "norimaki" and "inarizushi" you may have heard. My favorites tend to be the latter types just as my preference (The price also counts, of course!) Believe or not, I'm not such an eager amateur of "most" popular ordinary type of Japanese sushi....For other types of Japanese foods, including meat foods such as "sukiyaki", I just love it. I also like "natto" very much!

I'm so surprised to hear you have heard of all those titles of Japanese "anime" works, most of the above are from decade ago when I was an elementary/junor high school student. 魔法使いサリー was long-standing, and if I remember, it was probably broadcast several times between certain periods over around 20 years up until recentaly. キャンディ・キャンディ is the one popular especially among girls, but I remember it was somewhat controvertial among the class, when I was an elementary school student. I also do remember みつばちマーヤの冒険, besides exact details in episodes. 鉄腕アトム is the one from much earlier period, I mean, that was broadcast even before I was born, in the middle 60's! For all the others you picked up above, I may have heard some time, but I myself have not been quite familiar.

I turly did not think these range of Japanese animations were trasmitted to Russia. They seem to have been exported to some other countries, including Italy, Spain, US, Thailand...but Russia! I never imagined.
I understand your situation since animation mainly target children or early teenagers. But I think I must tell you something, manga is not only a thing for children here, and there are many adult manga fans, for in fact, there is a variety in category. Me? Sorry, as I said, I myself am not so keen on  recent phenomenon....

Google machine translation could help summarize, but yes, I agree it donesn't always work well. So I found another machine translation site whose results are more accurate, detailed and helpful, although sometimes strange term choices occur here and there.  
For typing in Russian, it's still like hell to me (sorry!). As I said, I only use Japanese keyboard, so basically I guess I cannot type in Russian without a specific means like this site: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/paulgor/screen_e.htm. But you can imagine how hard it is to type while using it! If I could type in Russian more easily, the situation might be rather different.
